Knicks Tickets - Your Ticket To World Class Entertainment
Fans all across the world eagerly wait to get their hands on the seasons Knicks tickets. The New York Knickerboxers known as the Knicks are a phenomenon, a rage since the early 50s. New York Knicks, is one of the seven professional basketball teams playing in the Atlantic Division for the Eastern Conference of the NBA (National Basketball Association). They play in New York City, Madison Square Garden. Their jerseys have the official colors of New York orange, blue and white. Their original name was the Knickerbockers; it was taken after the pant wearing style worn by the early Dutch settlers in New York City.
The Beginning
The Knicks are the Charter members of Basketball Association of America (BAA), which later, in 1949, became the NBA. Boston Celtic and the Knicks are the two founder teams who still play in their original city. On 1st November 1946, the Knicks won their first BAA game. Since then, Knicks tickets have been a rage. They were in the NBA Finals in 1951, 1952, and 1953. The Knicks captured titles in 1970 and 1973 with six future Hall of Fame players: guards Earl Monroe and Walt Frazier, centers Jerry Lucas and Willis Reed and forwards Bill Bradley and Dave DeBusschere. In 1994 and 1999, Knicks reached the NBA Finals, but did not win.
Ned Irish, The founder member of the Knicks team looked after the basketball operations for Madison Square Garden. In 1946, he founded the Knicks as one amongst the 11 original BAA teams. His vision was to make hot cakes synonymous with Knicks tickets. Joe Lapchick was the head coach in 1947. He leaded the team to five playoff appearances at NBA in 1949. The Knicks had a 36-30 win-loss record at the season of 1950-51 and were also in the NBA Finals, though they did not win against Rochester Royals. The Knicks were the first to bring in a black player in the league that year, forward Nathaniel "Sweetwater" Clifton- who went on to became one of the top NBA rebounders. With center Harry "the Horse" Gallatin and guard Dick McGuire, the Knicks once again reached the NBA Finals in 1952 and 1953, though it lost both the series to Minneapolis Lakers.
The Logo
The original logo of Father Knickerbocker, dribbling a basketball has seen a lot of revisions. Whilst using the classic round ball logo, under which the Knicks won both their NBA championships, a second one ball in the box logo was used for Knicks tickets and club merchandise. The current triangular logo with three dimensional modernized lettering was unveiled in 1992. It was altered slightly to include the word New York in it. Since then the triangle logo remains the Knicks primary logo, though three other secondary logos have also been used in between Golden Anniversary, Knicks 2000 and Subway token logo.
